Drowning – Conceptual Scenic Design

For this reimagining of Drowning, we crafted a stark, desolate environment that mirrored the play’s haunting emotional depth. Developed as part of an advanced scenic design project at NYU Tisch, the concept leaned into minimalism and negative space, using sparse, intentional elements to evoke isolation and longing. Every design choice—from the barren landscape to the muted, atmospheric textures—was made to heighten the production’s raw, somber tone. This project demonstrates our ability to create spaces that don’t just set the scene but deepen the audience’s emotional experience, making every detail an extension of the story itself.
